Physical Therapist - Acute Care (Neuro/Cardiac)
Location: Seattle, WA

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 4x10 Day shift, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (four 10-hour shifts per week), every other weekend coverage
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage a challenging caseload focused on complex neuro and complex cardiac patients with compassion and clinical skill
- Perform thorough assessments including AROM/AAROM/PROM, vital sign monitoring, strength testing, and sensory response
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care and home exercise programs that support recovery and independence
- Provide patient and family education on safety, breathing techniques, and injury prevention to enable better outcomes at home
- Deliver skilled gait training, assistive device training, and cardiopulmonary interventions tailored to each patient
- Document evaluations, reassessments, short-term goals, and discharge plans clearly and timely (Epic preferred)
- Collaborate with respiratory services, nursing, social services, pharmacy, and other team members to coordinate care
- Maintain expected productivity targets and effectively manage time across a complex, high-census unit
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience (3 years explicitly required)
- Demonstrated experience in Cardiopulmonary, Geriatrics, and Neurology (required)
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- BLS certification preferred
- Ability to manage a challenging caseload and maintain a 65% productivity target
Knowledge & Skills
- AROM/AAROM/PROM assessment and mobilization techniques
- Cardiopulmonary care including breathing techniques and supplemental oxygen delivery
- Gait training and extensive experience with assistive devices
- Neurologic rehabilitation including post-stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, MS, and Parkinson’s disease
- Skilled documentation, evaluation, plan of care development, and reassessments
- Familiarity with hospital equipment such as hoyer lifts, specialty beds, and sit-to-stand devices
- Patient and family education, safety and injury prevention strategies
