Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM (day) and 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM (night). Schedule includes every other weekend; travelers will be added into self-scheduling for core staff.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care for adult ICU patients, managing a typical 1:2-3 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Titrate and manage cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips safely and per protocol
• Interpret telemetry strips, document findings, and respond to cardiac/respiratory changes
• Troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment; collaborate with respiratory therapy for advanced interventions
• Accurately and promptly chart patient care in EPIC and maintain thorough documentation
• Deliver compassionate care for complex diagnoses including trauma, sepsis, stroke, cardiac events, renal and respiratory failure
• Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed while maintaining safe patient assignments
• Follow facility policies and participate in orientation requirements, including a pass/fail competency exam

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Driver's license required at time of submission (used to verify radius eligibility)
• Proven ability to titrate drips and manage high-acuity patients
• Comfortable with EPIC charting and GE monitor systems, telemetry interpretation, and ventilator troubleshooting
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, participate in every-other-weekend coverage, and complete orientation requirements
• Must pass orientation open-book competency exam with a 90% score; artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas

Education

• Active RN license required (BSN not listed as required)

• EPIC electronic charting expertise
• Telemetry interpretation and strip documentation
• Titration of cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips
• Ventilator and respiratory equipment troubleshooting (nasal cannula through vent support)
• Critical care assessment and management for trauma, sepsis, stroke, cardiac cases, and respiratory distress
• Ability to work with GE monitor systems and collaborate with tele techs
• Strong clinical judgment for 1:2-3 adult ICU assignments
• Team communication, rapid response, and interdisciplinary collaboration
