Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients, monitoring and responding to changes in condition
• Manage ventilators and advanced hemodynamic support, ensuring safe, evidence-based care
• Perform and assist with procedures common to the unit such as central line and arterial line care and intubation
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to create and execute care plans
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the Meditech EMR
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care and support families during stressful times
• Participate in unit rounds, handoffs, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Adhere to unit policies, infection control practices, and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current RN license (TX or appropriate compact/multi-state authorization) required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care nursing experience (per job posting)
• Comfort with ICU equipment and typical ICU procedures (vent management, central/arterial lines, EVD care familiarity a plus)
• Strong teamwork, accountability, and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care and ICU nursing best practices
• ACLS protocols and emergency response
• Meditech EMR experience (preferred)
• Experience with oncology, neuro, BMT or PCU patients is a plus
• Competence with central line and arterial line care, intubation procedures, and EVD care
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments and prioritize effectively
