Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality OB/GYN ultrasound exams and other ultrasound imaging with patient-centered care
• Process and transmit diagnostic images accurately to PACS for timely physician review
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of procedures and patient interactions
• Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient flow
• Ensure adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies (vaccines/tests as required)
• Complete required competency exams and specialty checklists to demonstrate ongoing proficiency
• Provide patient education and compassionate support before, during, and after imaging procedures
• Troubleshoot imaging equipment and report technical issues to biomedical engineering promptly

Qualifications

• RDMS (ARDMS) or AART certification required (or equivalent as listed in job materials)
• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program or current certification as described above
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required upon hire and must be maintained
• Strong experience and comfort with OB/GYN ultrasound protocols
• Proficiency with PACS and general computer skills for image transmission and documentation
• Willingness to complete required screenings and competency testing (drug screen, TB, vaccines, etc.)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound (sonography) program
• ARDMS or AART certification preferred/required as noted

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ultrasound imaging techniques, especially OB/GYN studies
• Proficient use of PACS for image transmission and retrieval
• Strong patient communication and bedside manner for sensitive exams
• Solid understanding of imaging safety, infection control, and radiation safety principles
• Accurate documentation and attention to detail for reporting and record-keeping
• Ability to perform competency exams and follow specialty checklists
• Comfort troubleshooting equipment and coordinating repairs/maintenance
• Team collaboration skills and responsiveness in a fast-paced clinical setting
