Shift Type: Rotating day/evening shifts (Monday-Friday primary), 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, or 10:30 AM - 8:30 PM; schedule is a combination of 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts to equal 40 hours/week; rotating with evening/weekend coverage and on-call as needed

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care on a day/evening rotating schedule
• Circulate and scrub in a variety of surgical cases, supporting complex procedures when needed
• Maintain accurate, timely patient records using EPIC charting
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in on-call and weekend coverage as scheduled to ensure continuous patient care
• Support infection control, safety protocols and the Universal Protocol time-out process in the OR
• Assist with robotics cases, microvascular free flap procedures and specialty surgeries when competent

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum of 2 years of perioperative or relevant clinical experience, oncology experience emphasized
• BCLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• ACLS and CNOR preferred
• Experience circulating and scrubbing in the OR preferred
• Travel nursing experience required
• Comfort working across specialties such as neuro, thoracic, ENT, orthopedics, general, plastics, urology and gynecology

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BCLS certification (required)
• ACLS, CNOR and specialty certifications preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing practices including circulating and scrubbing
• EPIC charting and electronic documentation
• Robotic surgery systems including Da Vinci SP and Xi
• Laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures
• Microvascular free flap fundamentals
• Administration of blood and blood products and cardiac monitoring
• Infection control, laser and radiation safety, and universal protocol procedures
• Familiarity with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources and common OR instrumentation
