Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate Labor & Delivery care for mothers and newborns across a high-acuity unit
• Continuously monitor fetal status and maternal vital signs, escalating concerns to the OB team promptly
• Assist and/or circulate for cesarean sections and support scrub/OR roles as needed
• Manage IV therapy including drips such as magnesium and other peripartum infusions
• Perform and support procedures common to L&D including epidurals, spinals, cerclage, and external cephalic version
• Document accurately in the electronic charting systems (Meditech, CPN) to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia, NICU (Level III) and PACU teams for safe patient transitions
• Float within the women's and children's service line when staffing needs arise, maintaining high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure appropriate for assignment
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AWOHHN Fetal Heart Rate Intermediate listed in hospital specifics)
• Comfortable with high-acuity L&D cases and circulating/scrub roles in the OR
• Experience with IV therapy, fetal monitoring and C-section support
• Familiarity with Meditech and CPN documentation systems preferred

• Labor & Delivery clinical care and maternal-newborn assessment
• Fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Cesarean section circulation/scrub experience
• IV therapy management including infusion protocols
• Epidurals and spinals support knowledge
• Procedures such as cerclage and external cephalic version
• High-acuity maternal care and rapid clinical decision-making
• Electronic charting in Meditech and CPN
