Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to NVICU patients during 12-hour night shifts
• Monitor and manage advanced ICU equipment and ventilators to maintain patient stability
• Perform and assist with procedures such as central line and arterial line care, intubation, and EVD patient management
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately using Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent patient care
• Maintain safe patient ratios and escalate changes in condition promptly to ensure optimal outcomes
• Participate in unit guidelines and policies and support a team-focused culture on every shift

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Texas or compact) — current and in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (NVICU/neuro experience preferred)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Comfortable with or experience in central line / arterial line care, intubation, and EVD patient care
• Team-player attitude, accountable, and caring—ability to work nights and required weekends

Education

• Nursing diploma, ADN, or BSN (BSN preferred when available)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
• Familiarity with standard ICU equipment and ventilator management
• Ability to document effectively in Meditech
• Procedural support skills for central line, A-line, and intubation scenarios
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced ICU setting
• Flexibility to float across ICUs, BMT and PCU as needed
