Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department with professionalism and minimal supervision.
Rapidly and accurately triage patients, assessing physical and psychosocial needs to prioritize care and manage patient flow.
Communicate clear, concise updates to ER physicians and mid-level providers regarding patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic results.
Respond quickly and appropriately to changes in patient condition and treatment response.
Give direction to ED technicians, registration staff, and allied health personnel to ensure coordinated, efficient care.
Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, high-quality care.
Operate manual and electronic medical equipment and perform competent IV skills and patient assessments.
Document care and interventions thoroughly and participate in required pre-employment and health screenings.

Qualifications

Current MT State RN license required
Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
Minimum 2 years ER experience required
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) and Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program (required)
Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency Department nursing principles and procedures
Triage and rapid patient assessment
IV skills and medication administration competence
Use of manual and electronic medical equipment
Strong communication with physicians and mid-level providers
Basic computer and office skills
