Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform precise EKG lead placement and assist with monitoring rhythms
• Scrub and maintain a sterile field during procedures to ensure patient safety
• Serve as room circulator—coordinate the team, supplies, and smooth flow of cases
• Assist with left and right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, and stent placement
• Support temporary and permanent pacemaker procedures and AICD insertions/programming
• Participate in electrophysiology studies including mapping, ablation, and arrhythmia induction
• Assist with advanced procedures as needed: TAVR, Watchman, ASD closures, Impella insertion, thrombectomy
• Document procedures and patient care accurately in Epic charting
• Take part in on-call rotation and be ready to float to Providence Mission Laguna when required
• Follow facility policies and contribute to a culture of patient-centered, high-quality care

Qualifications

• California state license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Fluoroscopy permit / Flouro certification required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant cardiac cath/EP experience (first-timers not accepted)
• Strong electrophysiology (EP) experience strongly preferred
• Experience panning and circulating (EP and heart cath preferred)
• Travel experience required; ability to float to Laguna Beach/Providence Mission Laguna as needed
• Ability to work call (8 days/month) and frequent weekend coverage
• Epic charting experience preferred
• RTO (return-to-office or required documentation) must be included at time of submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac cath lab procedures: left/right heart cath, PCI, PTCA, stent placement
• Electrophysiology studies: mapping, ablation, arrhythmia induction, baseline measurements
• Temporary and permanent pacemaker support; AICD insertion/programming
• Advanced interventions: TAVR, Watchman (LAA closure), ASD closures, Impella insertion
• EKG lead placement, rhythm interpretation, sinus node rhythm recognition
• Room circulation and sterile scrub techniques
• Use of imaging equipment such as Phillips and Siemens C-arm
• Familiarity with thrombolysis/thrombectomy and other neurological interventions
• Proficiency with Epic charting
