Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pediatric acute nursing care using best practices and clinical judgment
• Perform nursing care procedures and follow physician orders and hospital policies with precision
• Support pediatric patients and their families with compassionate education and emotional support
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — physicians, specialists, and allied health — to coordinate patient care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure compliance with standards of care
• Assess patient status, recognize changes, and respond appropriately to urgent clinical situations
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement and safety initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
• Valid, current, full and unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state, territory, or Puerto Rico (Arizona state license not required)
• Current BLS (American Heart Association) required
• Current ACLS (American Heart Association) required
• Current PALS (American Heart Association) required
• Complete Pediatric Trauma Care After Resuscitation (P-CAR) within 6 months of hire
• Complete NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 6 months of hire
• Ability to work independently and follow standards of care, policies, and physician orders
• Experience or comfort working in pediatric acute care environments is strongly desired

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric acute care principles and pediatric patient support
• Nursing care procedures and clinical assessment skills
• Advanced life support protocols: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Pediatric trauma after-resuscitation care (P-CAR) and NIHSS assessment
• Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with interdisciplinary teams
• Cultural sensitivity when serving diverse populations, including Navajo and Hopi communities
