Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to geriatric residents
- Assist with mobility, transfers, bathing, dressing, and toileting while preserving dignity
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
- Follow individual care plans and accurately document care and observations
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
- Build meaningful connections with residents and support their emotional needs
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification or state equivalent required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working night shifts and flexible per diem schedule
- Compassionate, patient, and strong communicator with a team-first attitude
- Able to perform physical duties associated with resident care, including lifting and transferring
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification or state-required training
Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of geriatric care principles and resident-centered practices
- Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols, and HIPAA basics
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Skills in safe resident handling, fall prevention, and mobility assistance
- Good observational skills and the ability to notice subtle changes in resident condition
