Shift Type: Per diem / As-needed, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening/Night) - schedule varies based on facility needs
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful daily care to geriatric residents to promote comfort and dignity
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
- Support safe mobility and transfers while using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Observe residents and promptly report changes in condition to the nursing team
- Document care accurately and clearly in resident records and communicate effectively with staff
- Help create a warm, home-like environment by engaging residents in social and recreational activities
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to maintain a safe environment
Qualifications
- Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
- Current state certification or licensure as required for Maryland facilities
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Current immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a passion for working with older adults
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of geriatric nursing care and ADL support
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Infection prevention and standard precautions
- Accurate documentation and basic charting skills
- Ability to observe, assess, and report changes in resident condition
- Teamwork, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
