Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing for MICU/MSICU patients, managing complex, high-acuity cases
- Manage mechanical ventilation and advanced life support interventions with skill and confidence
- Perform bedside procedures such as central line placements, intubations, dialysis catheter placements, thoracentesis and cardioversions as required
- Assess patients continuously, develop and implement individualized care plans, and document clinical findings in Meditech
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapists and dialysis teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Triage and assign care according to patient acuity and unit staffing needs
- Mentor colleagues, communicate clearly with families, and advocate for patient safety and comfort
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas required; temporary licenses will not be accepted
- BLS and ACLS certifications required and current
- Minimum 2+ years MICU or MSICU experience required
- CCRN preferred and will be viewed favorably
- Comfortable and experienced with ICU procedures and advanced monitoring
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
- Familiarity with dialysis equipment such as NXStage
- Experience with Arctic Sun and GE Cardiac Output monitoring
- Skilled in critical care procedures: central lines, intubation, dialysis catheter placement, thoracentesis and cardioversion
- Excellent assessment, prioritization and acuity-based assignment skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary ICU environment
