Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to progressive care and step-down patients on the PCU
• Continuously monitor telemetry and respond to cardiac or clinical changes with skill and urgency
• Document assessments, interventions and plans accurately and efficiently in Cerner
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Perform timely admissions, discharges and transfers to support quick turnover and optimal bed flow
• Initiate ACLS protocols and provide advanced life support when required
• Float to other units as needed while maintaining high standards of care and teamwork

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience with telemetry/progressive care exposure
• Telemetry competency and progressive care experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience using Cerner or similar EMR systems
• Comfortable with fast-paced unit flow, quick turnover, and occasional floating to other units

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition skills
• Progressive care/step-down patient assessment and management
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation and electronic charting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a short-stay environment
• Familiarity with unit policies, infection control and patient safety protocols
