Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, typically 3 shifts per week, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, includes rotating weekends and holidays (night)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-acuity nursing care for neonates in a Level III NICU
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and advanced airway management when needed
- Manage ventilators, CPAP, oscillators and respiratory support for intubated infants
- Safely insert, manage and troubleshoot central lines, Broviac lines and IV access
- Monitor and document patient status using CPN and Meditech charting systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including neonatologists, respiratory therapists and surgeons for procedures such as PDA ligations and laparotomies
- Educate and support families through complex care plans and transitions
- Float to related areas (PICU, Pediatrics, CICU) as needed while maintaining high standards of care
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas or eligible for Texas licensure
- Minimum 1 year of Level III NICU experience (experience with preemies expected)
- NRP and BLS certifications required
- Demonstrated experience with neonatal intubation and ventilator management
- Experience managing central lines, tracheostomy and Broviac care
- Comfort with surgical and cardiac neonatal patients, and care of infants under 27 weeks preferred
- Familiarity with CPN and Meditech electronic documentation systems
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Neonatal resuscitation and advanced airway skills (NRP)
- Neonatal respiratory management, including ventilator and CPAP support
- Central line and Broviac care and maintenance
- Tracheostomy care for infants
- Care for preterm and surgical neonatal patients
- Proficient documentation in CPN and Meditech
- Strong family communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
- Ability to function in a fast paced, high acuity NICU with patient ratios from 1:1 to 1:4
