Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona

Start Date: 07-01-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-Hour Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Typical schedule is 36 hours one week, 48 hours the next, plus up to 1 on-call shift/week. Must be flexible and open to days, weekends, and holidays as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients on a 20-bed medical-surgical unit
Maintain excellent staffing ratios, typically 4:1 for non-COVID patients and 2:1 for COVID patients
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care
Float to other qualified departments as needed, supporting the broader care team
Assist with flu immunization clinics when required
Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license in Arizona or compact state
Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Minimum three years of med-surg experience with at least one year in pediatrics
Comfortable caring for both adult and pediatric patients
Willingness to float and work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and critical thinking skills across the lifespan
Ability to manage diverse patient populations with varying acuity levels
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and unit demands
Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and care quality
