Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD on a busy 18-bed telemetry unit
- Interpret telemetry strips and respond promptly to cardiac changes
- Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators to deliver excellent outcomes
- Support patients using CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
- Float to other med/surg units as needed while maintaining top-notch care standards
- Build meaningful connections with patients through great communication and time management
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas or compact license
- Current BLS certification required
- Strong telemetry strip interpretation skills
- Excellent communication and time management abilities
- Willingness to float to all med/surg units and work every other weekend plus holidays
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
- Managing patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD
- Comfort with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment
- Collaborating with PCTs and the interdisciplinary team
- Adapting quickly when floating to different med/surg units
