Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver compassionate nursing care for patients of all ages in the Emergency Department
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergent situations, making sound clinical judgments
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care
• Educate patients and families about procedures, conditions, and recovery plans
• Delegate appropriately and supervise support staff to maintain high-quality care
• Document all care activities thoroughly and maintain strict patient confidentiality

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska
• BLS and PALS certification required upon hire
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of start
• Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience preferred
• Prior Emergency Department experience is a plus

Education

• Education required to obtain a valid, current, full and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong foundation in nursing assessment, care planning, and emergency response
• Ability to recognize and act promptly on adverse signs and symptoms
• Proficiency with basic medical equipment including defibrillators and monitors
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and the care team
• Leadership ability to guide and support fellow staff members
