Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM, every other weekend and holidays required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD on a busy 18-bed telemetry unit
Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret telemetry strips to ensure patient safety
Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators for seamless patient care
Support patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy
Float to various med/surg units as needed to support the broader care team
Build meaningful connections with patients while managing a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio

Qualifications

Active RN license in Texas or compact license
Current BLS certification required
Strong communication and time management skills
Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
Willingness to float to other med/surg units

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Managing patients with CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and CKD
Supporting patients on CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
Working collaboratively with PCTs and nursing leadership
Adapting to different med/surg environments when floating
