Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients on a specialized MedSurg/Tele unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to telemetry alerts
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health techs to support patients with secondary mental health needs
• Administer medications safely while maintaining sterile technique during procedures
• Float to ED psych holds or other MedSurg floors as needed to support the broader care team
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans while fostering a calm, healing environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum one year of recent MedSurg/Telemetry experience in a Level 1 trauma facility with 600+ beds
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Psychiatric experience is a plus but not required
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to start (two attempts allowed)
• Ability to complete pass/fail SIMs Lab on day one covering Foley insertion and central line dressing changes

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Comfort working with patients who have behavioral health components
• Excellent sterile technique and infection prevention practices
• Ability to remain calm and de-escalate in high-stress situations
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams including psych providers and security
• Flexibility to float between units and adapt to changing patient needs
