Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality psychological services to patients in a substance abuse treatment setting using evidence-based interventions
• Perform comprehensive assessments and intake evaluations to inform individualized treatment plans
• Lead and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that promote recovery and skills development
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and support patient success
• Document clinical encounters and treatment progress thoroughly and timely in the facility charting system
• Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training to maintain clinical excellence
• Support continuity of care by communicating effectively with colleagues and referral sources

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychologist (PSY) in California OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) OR Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California
• Experience working in mental health and/or substance abuse treatment settings preferred
• Ability to work Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM and attend a one-week orientation (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
• Active, unrestricted license and good standing with the relevant California licensing board
• Willingness to complete facility onboarding, background checks, and required health screenings

Education

• Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) for Psychologist roles; OR
• Master's degree in counseling/psychology or related field for LMFT/LPCC roles

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills for mental health and substance use presentations
• Proficiency in individual and group therapy techniques and treatment planning
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills appropriate for behavioral health settings
• Culturally responsive care and strong communication skills with patients and team members
• Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic charting workflows
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
