Location: Syracuse, NY

Shift Type: 40 hours per week; weekends as needed; specific start/end times not provided (no on-call)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Process, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays with precision
- Maintain strict sterile technique and adhere to infection control policies to keep patients safe
- Operate and document sterilization equipment performance and cycles
- Collaborate with surgical teams and supply chain to ensure timely instrument availability
- Use EPIC (EHR) for instrument tracking and documentation to support clinical workflows
- Complete required Trinity competency testing and skills checklists to demonstrate proficiency
Qualifications
- Sterile Processing Tech credentials required (Central Sterile experience)
- Current BLS certification
- Familiarity with EPIC or other EHR systems
- Ability to pass Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Skills Checklist
- Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (MMR, Hep B, COVID-19, Tdap, etc.)
- License/certificate verification as required by the facility
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in sterile processing and central sterile workflows
- Working knowledge of sterilization methods, instrument handling, and tray assembly
- Comfort using EPIC for documentation and tracking
- Strong attention to detail and infection prevention practices
- Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with perioperative staff
