Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to assigned patients
• Assess patient condition, monitor vital signs, and respond promptly to changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions clearly in the chart
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Prioritize patient safety and uphold infection control and facility policies
• Act decisively in urgent situations and escalate concerns appropriately

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN license where applicable
• Recent clinical experience in Med/Surg nursing
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or based on unit requirements
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage multiple patients safely in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med/Surg clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Medication administration and IV/infusion competency
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Collaborative approach to patient-centered care and interdisciplinary teamwork
