Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Monitor and accurately document patient vital signs and status changes
• Support admissions, discharges, and safe patient transfers with attention to detail
• Collaborate closely with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality care
• Maintain patient safety and infection control practices at all times
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and the care team
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and empathy

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (state certification required; Hawaii certification preferred or must be obtained)
• CPR/BLS certification required or obtain upon hire
• Recent acute care experience preferred (experience in fast-paced hospital settings a plus)
• Ability to perform bedside care, assist with mobility and transfers safely
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and any facility onboarding requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamentals of patient care and basic nursing procedures
• Accurate vital sign measurement and documentation
• Infection control and standard precautions
• Comfort with electronic health records and basic charting
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced acute setting
• Cultural sensitivity and patient advocacy
