Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Emergency Department
• Perform rapid and accurate assessments to prioritize care in urgent situations
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver efficient patient flow
• Document care clearly and promptly in the patient record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
• Maintain a calm and professional presence during high-acuity events

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for Louisiana or compact RN license as applicable
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Experience in Emergency Department nursing preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and triage skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, teamwork-focused environment
• Immunizations and health screening per facility policy

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and acute care principles
• IV therapy, wound care, and medication administration
• Familiarity with common ED equipment and monitors
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking
• Clear communication with multidisciplinary teams and patients
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems
