Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders using evidence-based approaches
• Develop individualized treatment plans that set meaningful, measurable goals
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, therapists, and caregivers to coordinate care and improve outcomes
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge plans accurately and on time
• Provide family/caregiver education and training to support carryover of gains
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute clinical insights to care planning
• Adapt treatment strategies for diverse age groups and clinical settings

Qualifications

• Active California licensure or eligibility to obtain a California SLP license
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required for licensure)
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Current BLS/CPR and up-to-date immunizations/background checks as required by facility
• Strong clinical judgment, flexible approach, and excellent communication skills
• Prior experience in acute care, outpatient, or school settings is a plus

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
• ASHA CCC-SLP (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of assessment tools and treatment techniques for speech, language, voice, and swallowing
• Skilled in developing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Comfortable with patient and family education and counseling
• Proficient documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams
• Strong time management and caseload prioritization abilities
