Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and care for Med/Surg telemetry patients using established protocols
• Interpret telemetry strips and promptly escalate clinical changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following ACLS/BLS guidelines
• Perform thorough patient assessments and maintain accurate documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care plans
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and complete required skills checklists
• Provide patient and family education with compassion and clear communication
• Maintain compliance with licensing, immunization, and health screening requirements

Qualifications

• Active RN license with verification (Iowa license verification required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required (listed by facility)
• Telemetry / Med-Surg clinical experience (prior telemetry experience preferred)
• Able to complete Trinity-required screening: fit test, 10-panel drug screen, immunizations and health documentation
• Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Skills Checklist

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation skills
• Solid Med/Surg nursing assessment and clinical judgment
• Familiarity with ACLS/BLS emergency protocols and rapid response procedures
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and medication administration
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Ability to complete specialty competency testing and follow facility checklists
