Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care across age ranges in ICU, NICU and ED settings with compassion and precision
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation and adjust settings as clinically indicated
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and interpret results to guide therapy
• Assist with intubations and other advanced airway procedures when needed
• Deliver respiratory treatments including nebulizers, CPT, IPPB and Metaneb with attention to patient comfort and outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in Meditech
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and execute patient-centered respiratory plans
• Coach patients and families on breathing techniques, equipment use and discharge plans

Qualifications

• Current RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) — required
• BLS certification required; ACLS/other certifications a plus if available
• Minimum 2+ years of hospital respiratory therapy experience
• Demonstrated ICU, NICU or ED experience (must-have as noted in the hiring profile)
• Proven ability to draw ABGs confidently and accurately
• Comfortable working night shift and every-other-weekend rotations
• Experience with Meditech or similar documentation systems preferred

Education

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and troubleshooting
• Arterial blood gas collection and interpretation
• Experience with Servo I ventilator (preferred)
• Familiarity with point-of-care testing (I-Stat preferred)
• Nebulizer treatments, CPT, IPPB and Metaneb procedures
• Strong patient communication and customer service skills
• Accurate clinical documentation and teamwork in fast-paced settings
