Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, 1 summer and 1 winter holiday required, with standby call

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide specialized care for newborns in our Level 2 SCN including phototherapy, respiratory support, and monitoring for hypoglycemia and sepsis
Attend deliveries as the baby nurse, ensuring smooth transitions for newborns
Start and maintain IVs, assist with umbilical line placement, and manage Bubble CPAP and HiFlow therapies
Flex between SCN and postpartum assignments, caring for up to 3 mother-baby couplets when needed
Titrate drips such as D5W and TPN while monitoring patient response
Collaborate with our 24/7 neonatologist and interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional family-centered care

Qualifications

Active Washington RN license or compact license
Current NRP and BLS certifications required
Skilled in attending deliveries as the baby nurse
Experience with IV start and maintenance, Bubble CPAP, HiFlow, and umbilical line placement assist
Preferred: 2 skills in NICU Level 2 and postpartum care
Ability to float between SCN and postpartum assignments as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Level 2 NICU and postpartum nursing expertise
Proficiency with Bubble CPAP, HiFlow, and CPAP/BiPAP equipment
Strong IV and umbilical line management skills
Experience with phototherapy, newborn resuscitation, and withdrawal protocols
Ability to titrate drips including D5W and TPN
Excellent communication and family-centered care approach
