Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients with epilepsy, brain tumors, and other neurological conditions
• Monitor patients during 24-48 hour Trend EEGs and respond quickly to subtle changes
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team including hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy
• Perform essential skills such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes while maintaining sterile technique
• Float to Med/Surg/Tele units or sister campuses as needed to support patient care across the system
• Educate and support patients and families through complex neurological diagnoses and recovery journeys

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or compact license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience, with Level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred
• BSN preferred; Med Surg/Tele certification a plus
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts allowed) and complete SIMs Lab skills on day one of orientation
• Must have reliable transportation and meet facility appearance standards

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills to detect subtle patient changes
• Comfort managing patients on BiPAP and performing basic neuro assessments
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced 48-bed Neuro Acute unit
• Experience with epilepsy monitoring, post-op neuro, and trauma patients is highly valued
