Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality care to oncology and trauma patients on a 28-bed PCU/Med Surg unit
Monitor and titrate drips including insulin and Cardizem while ensuring patient safety
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of PT/OT, case managers, social workers, and dietitians
Float to same-level-of-care units to support hospital-wide needs and build versatile skills
Deliver patient-centered care from diagnosis through remission or peaceful end-of-life support
Perform hourly rounding and focus on exceptional patient experience
Mentor and support teammates, fostering a culture of genuine teamwork and mutual respect

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS and ACLS certifications required
ONS/ONCC certification preferred
Minimum 1 year of PCU or oncology nursing experience
First-time travelers welcome
EPIC experience within the last 6 months preferred
Valid driver's license required at time of submittal

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills for PCU-level patients
Experience with ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan-Ganz, EV-1000)
Comfort managing chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and proton pump inhibitors
Ability to titrate drips and respond quickly to changing patient conditions
Excellent communication and cultural sensitivity when caring for diverse patient populations
