Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights (6:30 AM - 6:30 PM / 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM), every other weekend

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Manage the business of the day on a fast-paced PCU unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Provide hourly rounding and responsive care to patients with diagnoses including CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, and weakness
Administer PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, insulin, and other common medications
Collaborate with charge nurses, educators, care managers, social workers, dieticians, PT, and OT to ensure holistic patient care
Utilize EPIC for charting and Alaris IV pumps for infusion therapy
Float to med-surg areas as needed based on highest need

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state required
ACLS and BLS certifications required
Telemetry competency required
Valid driver's license required for verification of distance from facility
Must not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit facility (including CHI/Dignity)
Ability to pass open-book exam on skills during orientation with 90% or higher

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records
Experience with Alaris IV pumps
Comfortable using mechanical lifts available in every other room
Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
Team player who thrives in a tight-knit, supportive environment
