Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-17-2026

End Date: 09-16-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM), rotating weekends every third weekend with Monday and Friday off

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive physical therapy to acute inpatients with orthopedic, neurologic, and medical conditions
Cover multiple units including Med/Surg, ICU, and ER as needed
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehab team to optimize patient outcomes
Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans to meet individual goals
Participate in department orientation and ongoing learning opportunities

Qualifications

Active California Physical Therapist license required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
At least 1 year of acute inpatient physical therapy experience
Ability to manage a caseload of 12+ patients per day

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in treating general medical deconditioning, total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, and CVA
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
