Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized, compassionate neonatal nursing care for infants in the NICU
• Continuously assess and monitor patient condition and respond to changes
• Collaborate closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team
• Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with families
• Participate in clinical rounds and contribute to care planning and discharge coordination
• Support family education and provide emotional support during critical moments

Qualifications

• Current, active RN licensure (ability to practice in North Carolina required)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent NICU nursing experience as specified
• Demonstrated experience delivering care in a neonatal intensive care environment
• Comfort working with complex neonatal equipment and monitoring systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in high-acuity teams
• Certifications such as BLS and NRP are valued and encouraged (if available)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of neonatal intensive care principles and protocols
• Skill in patient assessment, neonatal resuscitation fundamentals, and critical care monitoring
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot neonatal support equipment
• Familiarity with accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records
• Family-centered care approach and strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills
