Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for med/surg and pediatric patients
Perform accurate assessments and intervene promptly to ensure patient safety
Administer medications and treatments safely and follow facility protocols
Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the care team to develop and implement care plans
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
Document care clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
Participate in orientation, continuing education and quality improvement activities

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington or eligibility via compact licensure
Clinical experience in Med/Surg and/or Pediatrics preferred
BLS required; PALS and other pediatric certifications preferred
Demonstrated ability to provide safe medication administration and clinical assessments
Strong communication, teamwork and patient advocacy skills
Willingness to participate in orientation and unit-specific training

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical assessment and early recognition of patient deterioration
Medication administration, IV therapy and safe documentation practices
Pediatric care principles and family-centered communication
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
Infection control, safety protocols and hospital policies
Effective teamwork, delegation and interdisciplinary collaboration
