Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg unit
• Assess patient condition and implement appropriate nursing interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document all care accurately
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes promptly to the care team
• Provide compassionate patient and family education and emotional support
• Contribute to unit quality initiatives, safety protocols, and process improvements

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — Louisiana license or compact RN preferred
• Med/Surg nursing experience (previous Med/Surg unit experience is a plus)
• Comfort and experience working 12-hour shifts
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and specialty certifications encouraged
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing practices and protocols
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Patient assessment and documentation skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
• Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to changing patient needs
• Teamwork, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
