Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient recovery
• Monitor patient progress, recognize changes in condition, and escalate when needed
• Document care in the electronic health record in a timely and accurate manner
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN license as applicable
• Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or as required by unit
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and prioritization skills
• Current CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg care standards and best practices
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Comfortable with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Ability to perform patient assessments, wound care, and post-op care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced settings
