Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Med-Surg nursing care to a diverse adult patient population on a 36-bed unit
• Monitor telemetry and respond to cardiac changes, performing EKGs and following protocols
• Perform skilled procedures including wound care, drain management (chest tubes, JP drains), CBI, and Foley insertions
• Manage central line dressing changes and maintain aseptic technique
• Document accurately and efficiently in Meditech Expanse to ensure continuity of care
• Deliver excellent patient experience through bedside shift reports, hourly safety rounding, and meaningful patient connections
• Collaborate with the care team, including LNA support and unit leadership, to maintain safe patient ratios

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) credential required
• Minimum 2 years Med-Surg nursing experience (per job posting)
• IV certification required
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and performing EKGs as needed
• Experience with documentation in Meditech Expanse is highly desired

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med-Surg clinical judgment and patient assessment skills
• Telemetry monitoring and recognition of rhythm changes
• Proficiency in IV therapy, central line care, and Foley/CBI management
• Wound care and drain management techniques
• Accurate electronic documentation in Meditech Expanse
• Effective communication for bedside shift reports and patient-centered rounding
• Ability to work in a 1:6 (occasionally 1:7 surge) patient ratio environment
• Flexibility to float to similar levels of care and adapt to patient needs
