Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-acuity critical care to adult ICU patients, including post-CABG and transplant patients
• Manage ventilators and provide advanced ventilator management for ventilated patients
• Perform continuous hemodynamic monitoring and respond to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, and the multidisciplinary team to implement care plans
• Provide safe, evidence-based bedside care including CPR and emergency interventions as required
• Communicate clearly with patients and families, conduct bedside shift reports, and maintain the unit whiteboard
• Document care accurately in Meditech and support unit quality and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU/critical care nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Experience with ventilated patients, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-CABG care
• Comfortable working in a very high-acuity unit (ECMO, heart transplant, CABG cases)
• Ability to perform bedside shift report and maintain professional patient communication

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in ventilator management and ventilated patient care
• Strong understanding of hemodynamic monitoring and titration
• Familiarity with ECMO support and care of transplant and post-op cardiac patients
• Competence with Meditech documentation system preferred
• Excellent critical thinking, emergency response, and teamwork abilities
• Professional bedside manner and patient-centered communication
