Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts; specific start/end times and days to be confirmed (Total hours per shift: 12)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and continuously monitor critically ill patients in the ICU with accuracy and compassion
Administer medications and advanced therapies safely and according to hospital protocols
Operate and manage ventilators and other life-support equipment with confidence
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and execute patient-centered care plans
Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
Document care thoroughly in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity and quality
Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Louisiana)
ICU experience—comfortable caring for critically ill adult patients
Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
Comfort with 12-hour shift work and the fast pace of critical care
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work in a team

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Critical care assessment and monitoring
Ventilator management and respiratory support knowledge
Medication administration in the ICU setting
Familiarity with ICU equipment and hemodynamic monitoring
Accurate and timely electronic charting
Strong interpersonal and crisis-management skills
