Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care on a 16-bed ICU unit
• Monitor and assess complex patients, responding quickly to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately during night shift
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient care clearly and timely to support continuity across shifts
• Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid interventions as needed
• Support patients' families with compassionate communication during difficult moments

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (must be able to work via an agency listed on the Louisiana Department of Health Nurse Staffing Agencies List)
• Employment through a Joint Commission-accredited staffing agency (required for travel RNs)
• Experience in ICU/critical care nursing and comfort with 12-hour night shifts
• Ability to work the 7 on/7 off night rotation reliably
• Current basic life support credentials; advanced certifications consistent with ICU practice as applicable

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (diploma, ADN, or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for critically ill patients
• Familiarity with ventilator support and respiratory management
• Comfort with hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Accurate medication administration and infusion pump competency
• Excellent clinical judgement, prioritization, and time management
• Clear documentation and effective interdisciplinary communication
