Shift Type: Monday-Friday, Day shift (primarily days; must be flexible to work mid shifts and participate in Open Heart call as required)

Hours per Week: 40

Bill Rate: $50,000 sign-on bonus

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care for cardiac/open-heart cases in the CVOR, ensuring patient safety and excellent outcomes
Prepare patients, equipment, and sterile field for complex cardiac surgeries and assist the surgical team throughout procedures
Monitor and document intraoperative patient status, communicate changes to the team, and support timely clinical decision-making
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize workflow
Participate in Open Heart on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergent cases when called
Mentor colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture focused on continuous improvement and patient-centered care

Qualifications

Current RN licensure (required)
Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience (required)
Cardiac Open-Heart/CVOR experience (required)
Willingness to participate in Open Heart call and occasional mid shifts
Positive, team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills

Education

BSN preferred; candidates without BSN may be considered with relevant experience and a commitment to obtain BSN within three years of hire

Knowledge & Skills

Perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
In-depth knowledge of cardiac/open-heart procedures and intraoperative monitoring
Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and manage instrumentation and supplies
Strong clinical judgment, situational awareness, and crisis management
Excellent teamwork, communication, and documentation skills
