Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert bedside care in the CVICU, managing critically ill adult cardiac patients
• Operate and respond to advanced monitoring equipment including Swan-Ganz, arterial lines and EV1000
• Manage mechanical ventilation and advanced airway care for post-op and critically ill patients
• Care for patients with central lines, chest tubes and assist with hemodynamic monitoring and titration
• Collaborate closely with physicians, perfusion, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document care accurately in Meditech EMR and maintain high standards of clinical charting
• Participate in unit-based teamwork to maintain a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio and deliver safe care

Qualifications

• Current RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (adult ICU/CVICU/Neuro ICU or similar) required
• Demonstrated ventilator experience and comfort with arterial/central line and chest tube management
• CVICU-specific experience (CABG recovery, Impella, CRRT) highly preferred
• BLS/ACLS required; CCRN and BSN preferred
• Experience with Meditech EMR is a plus

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and hemodynamic monitoring skills
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilation management
• Comfortable with invasive lines: Swan-Ganz, arterial and central lines
• Experience with chest tube care and post-cardiac surgery patients (CABG recovery)
• Familiarity with CRRT and Impella devices desirable
• Effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced ICU environment
