Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure areas and equipment to ensure safe, efficient care before the first case of the day
• Review patient charts and verify documentation, labs and consents prior to procedures
• Prep patients for cardiovascular, electrophysiology, and interventional neurology procedures
• Provide comprehensive pre- and post-procedure nursing assessments and continuous monitoring
• Communicate abnormal findings immediately to the physician/NP and provide clear handoffs to receiving RNs
• Participate in the Full Stop/Time Out safety process before each procedure
• Administer procedural sedation per hospital and unit policies
• Document patient care and procedural details in real time using MacLab/CardioLab systems
• Independently circulate and assist during diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and uphold patient comfort and privacy standards
• Precept and support new staff members and contribute to unit education and development
• Pursue ongoing professional growth, maintain certifications, and complete required mandatories

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Required experience: ICU, CVICU, IMC or Cath Lab experience (preferred)
• Preferred: prior RN experience in a Cardiovascular and EP Lab
• New grads and nurses with only Med/Surg experience are not being considered at this time

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma acceptable
• If hired without a BSN, must obtain a Bachelor degree within 36 months of hire

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring for cardiovascular and EP patients
• Fluoroscopy proficiency and intra-procedural radiation safety awareness
• Real-time MacLab/CardioLab documentation and procedure logging
• Procedural sedation administration and patient monitoring
• Circulating RN skills for catheterization, EP, TAVR, LAAO and neuro-interventional procedures
• Familiarity with 3D mapping systems and intracardiac ultrasound
• Ability to prepare procedure rooms and assist physicians during interventions
• Strong handoff communication and safety/time-out participation
