Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab with clinical excellence
• Perform circulate, scrub and hemodynamic monitoring duties during diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Provide pre-, intra- and post-procedural care and clear patient instructions to ensure safety and recovery
• Operate and maintain specialty equipment, including radiographic devices and physiologic monitors
• Document thoroughly in EPIC and maintain accurate procedure records
• Collaborate closely with physicians and multi-disciplinary teams to promote optimal outcomes
• Manage supplies and equipment for assigned shift and support unit start-up activities
• Participate in orientation and ongoing department training to support a new service line

Qualifications

• Current Alaska Registered Nurse license (required)
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
• Minimum 2 years’ nursing experience in cardiac cath or interventional radiology (required)
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• ACLS certification through AHA upon hire
• PALS or ENPC certification through AHA within six months of hire
• Demonstrated competence in moderate sedation patient care
• COVID-19 vaccination required

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical competence in cardiac physiology and pathology
• 12-Lead EKG interpretation and intra-cardiac pressure waveform knowledge
• Hemodynamic monitoring and pacemaker operations (implantable and external)
• Experience with radiographic equipment and imaging department support
• Proficient charting in EPIC
• Strong patient assessment and peri-procedural teaching skills
• Ability to function in acute care and interventional procedure settings
• Teamwork and communication skills with physicians and multidisciplinary staff
