Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor and prioritize care for telemetry patients using best practices in cardiac monitoring
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following facility protocols
• Interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms and escalate changes in condition promptly
• Document patient status, interventions and outcomes clearly in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
• Provide compassionate patient and family education about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergent situations, contributing to patient safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license (North Carolina) or ability to obtain state licensure promptly
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with telemetry experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Current CPR certification and up-to-date mandatory immunizations as required by facility
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills

Education

• Nursing degree (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpreting rhythms
• Solid knowledge of acute care nursing practices and medication administration
• Skilled in IV therapy, patient assessment and management of cardiac patients
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and clinical workflows
• Excellent teamwork, communication and patient advocacy abilities
