Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging exams (radiology and CT) per physician orders with accuracy and professionalism
• Position patients and operate imaging equipment across multiple modalities to produce high-quality images
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and deliver compassionate, age-appropriate care
• Monitor imaging equipment, report issues, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime
• Document exams, maintain records, and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
• Assist with scheduling, phone triage, and department communication to keep operations smooth
• Respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations and when patient condition changes
• Help maintain department supplies and safe working conditions, including adhering to radiation safety standards

Qualifications

• Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) licensure required
• BLS certification required
• Graduate of an accredited radiology program with an Associate of Science degree
• ARRT certification preferred
• Experience in at least two imaging modalities preferred
• Two years of acute care experience preferred (experience in a freestanding diagnostic imaging facility may substitute)
• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and adapt to changing priorities

Education

• Associate of Science degree from an accredited Radiology program

Knowledge & Skills

• Radiologic imaging principles and radiation safety
• Patient positioning and age-appropriate care techniques
• Operation and troubleshooting of imaging and CT equipment
• Documentation, recordkeeping, and regulatory compliance
• Strong patient care, communication, and emergency response skills
• Scheduling, phone triage, and teamwork within a diagnostic imaging department
• Ability to produce consistent, high-quality diagnostic images
