Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical care, prioritizing excellent patient outcomes.
• Perform general neurosurgical procedures and develop an elective spine practice to serve an underserved community.
• Collaborate closely with a team of experienced APPs and the pain service to coordinate patient care.
• Manage ER imaging reviews remotely and determine need for admission or intervention.
• Participate in call coverage and occasional weekend coverage as scheduled.
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to ensure clear continuity of care.
• Use neuro-navigation tools (Globus Robot, Stryker) in the OR to enhance surgical precision.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or TRULY Board Eligible through the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS) — required.
• Accepting new graduate candidates through 2025 — must be TRULY Board Eligible within 5 years of eligibility and working toward Board Certification within 4 years.
• OR experience and comfort performing both inpatient and outpatient procedures.
• Proven ability to work effectively with physician assistants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to live within approximately a 1-hour commute (commuting long distances or combining with another job is not acceptable).
• Not open to 1099 (independent contractor) arrangements and not open to visa sponsorship for this position.
• Not open to candidates who are only ABCNS eligible/certified.

Education

• Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of a neurosurgery residency
• Board Certified or TRULY Board Eligible through ABNS (as stated above)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in general neurosurgery with opportunity to build elective spine practice
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records
• Experience with neuro-navigation systems (Globus Robot, Stryker)
• Comfort managing trauma cases in a Level 3 facility
• Ability to collaborate with APPs, pain service, and cross-functional teams
• Experience with clinic workflow including on-site X-ray and high-volume clinic days
