Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments with professionalism and compassion
• Conduct interview-based clinical evaluations and targeted physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength testing)
• Complete thorough, timely reports including addendums and medical opinions when required
• Read and interpret diagnostic information to inform objective exam findings
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow VES protocols for one-time evaluations
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with Veterans and the VES administrative team
• Participate in required training and onboarding to meet program standards

Qualifications

• MD or DO (or equivalent physician qualification) with an active, unrestricted state medical license in the state(s) where you will practice
• Clinical background in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or general medicine
• Experience or familiarity with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams or separation health assessments preferred
• Comfort performing interview-based assessments and focused physical exams (range of motion and muscle strength testing)
• Ability to complete clear written medical opinions, addendums, and required documentation in a timely manner
• For provider-owned office option: an operational office within 50 miles of the listed city and ability to see Veterans in-office

Education

• MD or DO (or equivalent physician degree)
• Active state medical license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong interview and clinical assessment skills for non-treatment evaluations
• Proficiency in range of motion and muscle strength testing techniques
• Skilled report writing: clear, objective medical opinions and addendums
• Ability to interpret basic diagnostics and incorporate findings into exam reports
• Familiarity with non-prescriptive, evaluation-only clinical encounters
• Comfort with streamlined onboarding and adherence to government contractor processes
