Location: Watchung, NJ

Contract Type: Perm

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Day (35 hours/week; weekends as needed)

Hours per Week: 35

Candidate Pay Rate: $43 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and evaluate patients' mobility, strength, balance and functional needs using evidence-based techniques
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore function and improve quality of life
Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait training and manual therapy
Document patient progress and communicate changes clearly in the medical record
Collaborate closely with nursing, physicians and rehabilitation team members to coordinate care
Educate patients and families on home programs, safety and strategies to support recovery

Qualifications

Current New Jersey Physical Therapist license (required)
Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program; DPT preferred
BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain upon hire)
Strong clinical assessment, documentation and communication skills
Previous experience in inpatient rehabilitation or similar settings preferred

Education

Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred
Bachelor's or Master's in a related field acceptable where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in patient assessment, treatment planning and outcome measurement
Proficient with therapeutic exercise, manual techniques and gait training
Familiarity with mobility aids, assistive devices and safe patient handling
Comfortable documenting in electronic medical records and following regulatory standards
Strong teamwork, time management and patient education abilities
